How To Identify and Deal with Toxic People

I have seen people miss their blessings when they listen to other people with a motive that is not pure in heart and is not about helping you although it appears they are on the surface. Familiar faces, people you think you know, will wreck your situation if you believe what they say at face value because of some connection. Test what someone is bringing you against the word of God only. Ask these questions:

1) Why did they see fit to bring it to me?
2) If it is about a person, did they follow the word in relation to that person's alleged issues?
3) Are they accusing the person of something and did they follow the remedy for how scripture has laid it out to deal with these matters?
4) Did they come to me because perhaps I am feeding into it?
5) Are we always talking about it, but never truly seeking the word of God specifically for clarity on the issue or with the person in question?
6) Why is the person willing to come to me about it but unwilling to address it with the person in question?
7) Why is the person uncomfortable with bringing the matter to the light with other witnesses to drive out any untruths?

These are some the questions you really need to ask yourself about what is being brought to you. Toxic people look for sympathetic ears. But before you know it... your ears will be flooded and consumed with the toxic stuff to the point you will believe what is said instead of going to the person to get clarity. You can be in position to receive a blessing but you miss it because you believed someone without going to the word to get clarity on what was brought to you. You began to see it as the toxic person sees it.
