There has to be Repentance Before Deliverance Can Occur
Repentance is so critical. It's to acknowledge that the things I do are not of God at times. Deliverance is when I choose to leave what I acknowledge as wrong and do it God's way. This is a contrite spirit and broken heart that God can work with. The urges will be there at times... but your love for God is more than what your flesh is trying to get you to make your identity. And there we find the struggle... a war raging on the inside. Your spirit embraces what Jesus wants for you... but your outer man rejects what Jesus has. The two will always be in conflict. That's the struggle. So feed yourself the word of God and it will kill the outer man. No one will recognize you anymore because old things have passed away as Jesus makes you unspotted by the world in Him.
