It Takes More Than Talk To Let Me Know We Are On The Same team

We have to understand that not everyone who says they are walking with God is actually truly walking with God in their hearts. The only way you will know is by the evidence... the fruit that you see outwardly. The fruit is an indication of what's in the heart despite what someone is telling you.

Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)

23
Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.

"FLOWING" means what comes out tells the story of what is going on inside. And inside is where a decision is made to follow Jesus or Not (Romans 10:10). And what flows outwardly if one follows Jesus are the fruits of the spirit found in Galatians 5:22-26. Anyone who is not following Jesus in their heart (where it really counts) will display Galatians 5:19-21 characteristics as that flows from them.

Then we begin to understand what Jesus said in

Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV)
The Narrow and Wide Gates

13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

The "FEW" who shall find it lets us know that God is more concerned about the quality of the person, rather than the number of people (quantity). Quality in Him where Jesus IS at the center of our heart determines the quality... but for the billions (quantity) where he is just an after thought... well. Read verse 13.

There is still time to make Jesus Christ the center of your heart as written in Romans 10:9-13). Repent of our sins (Godly Sorrow which is the heart change), Believe that Jesus, the Son of God, died for our sins and was raised 3 days later with all power and now He sits at the right hand of the Father. Be baptized in the name of the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit... and now you are on that narrow road. It requires a genuine heart change for Christ where you make Him the center of your heart. You will be transformed and receive the Holy Spirit based on whether your heart genuinely wants to receive Him... and you will be given the power to resist those things that had you dead in your steps. This is the Power of Grace. We received Him to do what we could not do on our own... and we certainly did not deserve it.
