Contentment Keeps You Grounded To a Heavenly Reality

1 Timothy 6:6-11King James Version (KJV)

But godliness with contentment is great gain.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

If the crux of what you do is to become rich so you can be happy, how about being happy as you pursue greatness. Don't rely on the pursuit to make you happy. If you do, you will never find it. The process to get to greatness can be a struggle and it is not fun when you have to deal with so much and by the time you get there.. you still feel empty. But when you have Joy which only comes after seeking the Lord. That Joy will be with you every day as you work what you have faith in. Joy stays with you no matter what is going on in your life. But if you don't pursue joy through Christ... you will be in a rat race that will make you feel that you are not doing anything great. Enjoy each day to the best of your ability. Be thankful for what you have even if that is all you may get. Contentment in God is GAIN. Now you are ready to rise above the fold.
