Vote... that is your responsibility. Do not sit this one out. As a pastor I am not telling you who to vote for, but I am telling you to examine your heart and determine what is the true motive behind your inspiration for voting for any of the candidates. If you are a follower of Christ, then you should understand that if your motive behind your vote is lined up with the will of God (Matthew 18:14), then no matter what happens you have a clear conscious no matter what people attempt to say about your choice. And understand that a motive in line with God's heart will work itself out (Romans 8:28) no matter who is in office. I choose to believe His word. You will have a peace about things (Philippians 4:7) because while you live in a democracy, we are beholden to a spiritual theocracy where there is a King of all Kings who sits on the throne (Revelation 4:1-11)
But if your motive is lined up with creating stumbling blocks for others and it is totally opposite of of Matthew 18:14.. then you must hear what Jesus says on a heart that wants stumbling blocks for thy neighbor (Matthew 18:7). You will always be angry because God's word clearly states no weapons formed against His children shall prosper. Not everyone is His child yet (Ephesians 2:3)... but those who are... your motive towards any of them will never give you the outcome your heart desires.
And finally, ask God to show you the candidate who's heart is closest to being pricked to hear from Him. Only He knows that. You can tell if a person is part of the vine as it is written in John 15. Look for the fruit of the spirit found in Galatians 5:22-26. The fruit is an outward demonstration of what a person believes in their heart without them ever pointing to what they say they believe. The fruit will always tell the story. All of us have branches that need to be pruned, but look at the fruit of the spirit and see if any of those candidates have any of them. John 15 tells us they could not have their fruit without God. That lets you know who is closest to being a surrendered soul to hear from God. That's how you choose if that's what matters to you as a Christ follower. That kind of person will seek wisdom and above all things an understanding (Proverbs 4:7) before making decisions. That person can be convicted by the Holy Spirit when going astray (Psalm 51;17). That person will lean on spiritual weapons of warfare which will defeat the carnal nature of evil man (2 Corinthians 10:4). The spiritual weapons are packed in Godly wisdom on how to use the weapons in the natural and when not to. This person is not anxious about anything. This person is patient to allow for things to be revealed in a manner they can be dealt with effectively.
But if that does not matter to you, then you can lean on your own understanding forsaking the knowledge of God (Hosea 4:6) and you will get the outcome that Hosea 4:6 says you will get. The only way to turn that mindset around is a 2 Chronicles 7:14 approach.
Ultimately, before you can see any of these things I have written you must have the plank removed from your own eye to see yourself the way God sees you. Then you can see others the way God sees them. Now you can see what is mentioned above.
