God doesn't anoint anyone to do his work who has rejected him in every facet of their lives and in their hearts. The anointing means God endorses the person whom He is anointing to be the mouthpiece for Him in the earth. He only anoints those He sees has a heart for Him. They have been humbled (Psalm 51:17) and are now in a position to be rebuilt by God and used by Him. To be anointed by God, one will administer the things of the Kingdom of God in the earth while always giving God ALL THE GLORY... THE CREDIT.. for what is being done. While you see great things happening through an individual, that person will always point you back to God who is the one who works these wonders through the chosen vessel.
God doesn't anoint anyone who has rejected His knowledge (Hosea 4:6-7). But He will use those who have rejected Him as a tool to push others to Him. He will use the prideful person's wisdom against him as God is lifted up in what is taking place. The wisdom of the prideful person which is based on this world will be comfounded by the work of God through vessel's God has chosen to comfound the wise. He uses the weak things prideful people see to do things prideful people would have never thought could happen through the weak things. The weak things are lifted up as Glory is given to God.
As for the prideful person. It never ends well for him/her. In the case of King Herod in Acts 12:20-24, a Roman leader who ruled Judaea, God destroyed him because people began to look at him as a God and Herod obliged!
20 Now Herod had been very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; but they came to him with one accord, and having made Blastus the king’s personal aide their friend, they asked for peace, because their country was supplied with food by the king’s country.
21 So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. 22 And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” 23 Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.
24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.
If you think God lifts up the prideful to do His work and you put all your hope in that person or people... you will be disappointed. For it is written that God humbles those who lift themselves up, and lifts those up who have humbled themselves.
Pride always boasts, lifts up self, holds records of wrongs, has selfish ambitions, is not patient, is not kind, can not handle any longsuffering, always rejoices in lies rejecting the truth, always envies, is easily angered, is always rude, but only kind when it serves pride. Anyone walking this way will never be anointed by God because God is not welcome here. God is the opposite of what pride is. For Love is the opposite of these things written above ( 1 Corinthians 13:4-8).
