As much as we might think we are right in a situation with making a point, when God speaks on the matter... game over. Hold your peace! In Acts 11:18, the Apostles and brethren who were in Judaea contended with Peter for delivering the word of God to the gentiles as the house of Cornelius (Acts 10) received the Holy Spirit and was baptized by Peter. Up until that time the Gospel was only being preached to the Jews. But there was a shifting taking place that Peter saw in a vision and obeyed. Peter explained to those who took issue with the inclusion of gentiles now. They listened. When Peter recounted everything God had shown him, by the time he finished... it is written that those who had issue with Him, upon hearing what took place, held their peace.
You've gotta be humble enough to hold your peace when God is doing a new thing you might not be familiar with. Those who contended with Peter wanted to do right by the Lord and when they heard how the work of Peter brought Glory to the Lord... they held their peace. They learned something new that did not take away from the faith. What they learned would bring Glory to God.
There are many today who are more concerned about how something is being done rather than paying attention to WHAT is being done. They are quick to shut down the "GREATER WORKS" that is being done because those works are unfamiliar to how they are doing it. They are frozen in time instead of moving with God as He does new things through vessels that hear His voice and obey Him only!
These kind of folks will not hold their peace.
